And ain’t all about your liver.

I recently went for my Endoscopy, and what was an extremely stressful experience has become an intriguing pleasure.

It keeps me safe and stops me from potentially bleeding to death.

The Tube Down My Throat

Endoscopy* checks and sorts out any varices in the oesophagus or stomach.

And if not treated, they can cause immediate bleeding, and I’d be gone in a heartbeat.

And yes, all this comes from having liver disease. What a pisser.

Whenever the portal vein, which carries blood from the intestines to the liver, becomes obstructed (blocked) by scarring, varicose veins can develop.

This is called portal hypertension.

And those veins might explode because of all that pressure caused by my wine intake. Crikey.
