Google, Apple, Microsoft Agree on Common Condescension Standards

Google, Apple and Microsoft announced today a common agreement to use the word “deign” more often in their press releases. So instead of saying, “Apple today announces,” press releases will say, “Apple deigns to announce…” Likewise, instead of saying, “Google will be discontinuing this web service,” press releases will be saying, “Google deigns to discontinue this web service.” This new corporate communication policy comes within the overall “coordinated condescension” policies that each of these companies strives for. No longer will condescension be ad hoc. Condescension at all three companies will now have a more uniform, polished veneer.
