Character Design Part 1 — AG0841A

I’ll be honest, not sure how to start this.

I was tasked with creating a 3D model of a character of my choice for my main piece of coursework for my 3D Modelling module. Thought I’d create a blog tracing the development of my character. Warning, I’m terrible at art.

So I’ve decided as of now that I’ll create a pirate, but not any pirate, a weird ottoman, oriental, etc pirate. Basically I’m gonna mash a bunch of different pirate designs from various era and locations to make my own unique pirate butterfly. This won’t be just a mishmash though, I’m trying to make something cool looking without looking too outlandish or wierd.

So, the first thing we did was do a ‘photo bashing’ exercise in the practical in which you would merge different piece of a character to make a unique character. It’s a good exercise but it really didn’t work out for myself. So I’m gonna try again, taking it a bit slower and using smaller pieces. This time I’ll do one for my character. First thing, photos!
