Good article, but… There are a few areas where PETA can be problematic for some I admit, but a little while ago after researching deeper on this particular issue and following the rabbit hole down I will forevermore always support their work with companion animals in the community. My only issue here is the website you’ve linked to (if you check the Contact Us page) is paid for by an organisation called the ‘Center for Consumer Freedom’ a front group for Philip Morris, Outback Steakhouse, KFC, cattle ranchers, and other animal exploiters. I invite you to follow the money trail on a lot of these sites because there are so many vested interests at stake in attacking any “humane society” that exists. PETA just happens to be the biggest one so they take a lot of the flak. In addition there is also the other issue of “no-kill” shelters who refuse to take in unadoptable dogs and cats and instead give them to PETA to keep their kill stats down while at the same time attacking PETA for theirs. It’s a complex area anyway that I’ve found not to be quite so black and white. Here’s an excellent article from VICE too that’s definitely worth a read: http://www.vice.com/read/it-can-really-suck-to-be-a-dog-in-rural-north-carolina
