I really liked what you had to say about “The Counted”. I agree that this database is a great narrative with a journalistic foundation that allows for people to either change their mind or even form brand new opinions on police shootings in the U.S. However, one thing that wasn’t entirely clear to me in your response was where the narrative comes from. Does the narrative of this come from the numbers that are listed, or does it come from the personal stories of each person listed? Or does the narrative come from both? if it does, how do these subjects correlate to one another in terms of how this journalistic approach on informing with factual evidence, actually end up telling a story?
