I think you wrote this in reverse order. Rule 32 is the only rule that matters. Everything else is fluff. Possibly influential fluff, but still fluff. If you have the support of a majority of delegates, they tweak the rules so you get elected. Done. You probably want to find elegant ways to make that happen (or maybe not; so far, the raw exercise of power seems attractive to Trump), but majority == victory.
