These things drive me nuts! Partly because of the way they are implemented, and partly because I don’t want every website screaming at me to install their app. Modals are bad enough now — I still come across apps that prompt me to install some forum software, and other sites that tell me that they are “better in the app”.

I’ll admit to not having a better solution to get people to be aware that they can add apps to their home screen, but I worry that this will also lead to more apps saying “add us to your home screen so you can view our content”.
