Physical paper wallets are an essential first step in blockchain education. Get the 2 key concepts 🔑 I teach, and the free Walrus tool 🔧 to generate your own herd of paper wallets.

Cute, isn’t he?

These foundational concepts are best taught before any software is ever installed. Paper and ink are all we need!

Concept 1. Your wallet doesn’t have anything “in” it …. ever 🙅

Yes, you heard me right. There are no tokens or Ethereum “in” a wallet. A wallets is simply a text file containing private keys, which are used to sign messages. Wallets are like a *special pen*, which allows a user to sign a transaction.

Concept 2. Who had physical access to your paper wallet?

Since paper wallets are a physical item, you can easily introduce the concepts of custody of private keys. Take this a step further to begin a conversation on the trade-offs of security vs. usability.

Awesome! Your bright pupils can now begin to confidently and safely navigate other types of wallets thanks to you.
