Meet Picsart’s award-winning API program, Picsart for Developers, and apply for $1 Million Developer Fund
At Picsart, we’re on a mission to empower creativity everywhere. And we often think of achieving this through two paths: 1) our advanced graphic design tools; and, 2) an ability to make these tools easily accessible.
We’ve spent the last decade building out our photo and video editing tools and resources — offerings that have helped us grow into one of the largest creative platforms and communities in the world, which is pretty exciting. Now, we want to share this creativity with others, so we launched our API program, Picsart for Developers, earlier this year. Our APIs empower any developer or business to easily implement creative design tools on their own platforms.
As we build and scale this API program, we’re passionate about sharing our insights and learnings with you, and we hope this blog can do just that. So, welcome! This first post covers what we’ve been up to recently, and we’ll have more to come soon here.
Winning Best API Debut
Today we’re excited to share that Picsart for Developers was awarded “Best API Debut” at the 2022 API Awards, which celebrates incredible technical innovation, adoption, and reception within the API and microservices industries.
When considering launching Picsart for Developers, we took a look at the current creative API ecosystem and found it to be quite limited. If you were a business looking for assisted creative capabilities in 2021, you wouldn’t have found a clear creative category. What you have found are specific creative functions with established players in each box, such as a separate API for background removal technology, texture generation, and so on. So we sought out to put a breadth of creative capabilities all in one place, from image and video editing tools to an entire end-to-end editing experience. Our tried and true creative capabilities are used and trusted by hundreds of millions of Gen Z and millennial creators every month.
At seven months old and amongst hundreds of nominations, it’s so exciting to have the early impact of Picart’s API program recognized. We know that billions of customers expect creative control over their purchases — from lifestyle accessories and clothing to marketing, real estate, and printing materials — and we’re here to help businesses looking to the API industry for creative solutions.
The Advisory Board to the API Awards selected Picsart for Developers based on three criteria: (1) attracting notable attention and awareness in the API industry; (2) general regard and use by the developer and engineering community; and (3) being a technical leader in its sector for innovation. The 2022 API Awards will be presented at the 2022 API Awards Ceremony during API World, the world’s largest API & microservices conference and expo.
Launching a Developer Fund Valued at $1 Million
To further encourage creative expansion via APIs and celebrate our presence at API World, we’re launching a developer fund worth a total of $1 million.
The fund will give 1000 developers $1,000 in API credits to integrate Picsart’s creative tools into their own platforms. Any developer that can add value to their product by integrating our editing tools can apply at the Picsart booth at API World or by filling out this application form.
