My Vintage Apple II Rev 0 computer

This computer was purchased in 2016 from a 2nd-hand seller who got it from his brother based in Japan. The machine was from an estate / garage sale. He could not get it to work so sold it to me. It even came in a vintage carrying bag.

This machine has a serial number of 3099, meaning it was the 3,099th Apple II machine made by Steve Jobs and Wozniak!

The power supply has a serial number of 3247.

The motherboard has a serial number of 3388.

After months of research and comparisons (http://www.willegal.net/appleii/appleii-recreation.htm, https://www.solivant.com/appleII/), I can now confirm that this is a Revision 0 motherboard. See images below.

Note the large prototyping area (which in my machine has been used for something by the original owner), as well as the missing transistor near location F-13.

Interestingly enough, there is no serial number under the CPU slot but it does say 1977 under the Apple logo.

Underneath, you can see the prototyping work done by the original owner.

I had tried to get it to work properly.

There was no power, and checking the power supply, there seems to be something burned. So I bought a modern replacement power supply from Reactive Micro and installed it.

It booted all the way until a beep and I was able to type a few characters with the keyboard, however, after a few weeks of it being idle, I decided to re-seat all the chips and then now it will not boot properly. It would only show gibberish on the screen, and pressing the RESET button does not seem to work. Maybe the keyboard is broken, or something.

I have now decided to give someone else the opportunity to get this to work… Selling it on eBay.
