Fabric Rosette: Tutorial

This fabric rosette tutorial you will learn ten step-by-step techniques used in making gorgeous rosettes. Fabric Rosettes are decorative pieces that can be used in many ways. Wedding planners use rosettes as decorative pieces for tables, napkin holders or in creating a rosette mistletoe ball. Fashion designers use rosettes to decorate dresses, or even things like little girl’s headband pieces. Jewelry designers use rosettes to make rosette bib necklaces, chokers and necklace pendants.

Step 1: Cut out a piece of fabric about 3" (inches) wide and 17" inches long.
Step 2: Fold fabric into two equal halves.
Step 3: Using a hot glue gun, glue one end of the fabric strip together.
Step 4: Roll up the glued end of the fabric a little.
This rolled up end will become the center of the rosette.
Step 5: Using a hot glue gun again, glue the rolled up end to prevent it from unravelling.
Step 6: Begin twisting the fabric away from you.
As you twist, move towards the center of the rosette.
Step 7: Once a full round has been made, use hot glue to glue it down. Again, this prevents it from unravelling.
Step 9: Leave about 1/2 an inch of fabric towards the end and glue fabric down. This will help cover the bottom of the rosette.
Step 10: Here we have the finished rosette. Remember, as you keep practicing on your rosetts you will get better.
