Taking Responsibility, Living Consciously

In school, I was one of the shy kids. I had my small group of friends and the thought of meeting new people was terrifying. I was on the path to average, with a ‘normal’ job and a generic life. I never would have dreamed that 5 years later I would be in Sweden writing about self-improvement. Not in a million years. Yet, here I am…

My goals for this channel is to serve as a culmination of all the things I love. I hope it’ll serve as a journal for me to discover how I can become my best self, and hopefully, along the way give you ideas on how to do the same. I’ll write about the travel, my forays into foodie culture, and number one passion- coffee.

Taking Responsibility- How Did I Get Here
The single most outrageous thing I’ve ever done in my short life so far is dropping out of University. It was the culmination of being fed up with the path my degree was taking me, disinterest in what I was studying, the fear of ending up with a desk job, and the realisation that I could pursue what I love doing and make a career out of it without having to finish my degree. It was also around this time that I started reading heavily about self-improvement. The journey to reinvent myself and take responsibility for my future had begun.

Here I am, now, with two of the most successful cafe owners in Sweden. My Mentors.

Since then I’ve lived in Melbourne, Paris, Geneva and now Stockholm. I’ve travelled through Europe and have had the most amazing adventures, and it’s just the beginning.

While I’m not going to give you my whole life story right now, I will leave you with a parting plea. Right now, no matter where you are or what you’re doing, make yourself a promise. Take a deep breath, close your eyes, and let your imagination run wild thinking about what you want out of your life. What is your perfect future? What do you want the rest of your life to involve? What kind of person do you want to be?

Once the picture in your mind is clear as day, promise yourself to TAKE RESPONSIBILITY for creating that future. The minute you realise you are in charge of your future, your whole life will change. It’s like a ship leaving harbour, and like a ship, its a hell of a lot easier to steer when you’re actually moving.

I can’t wait to share the adventure with you, and I’m excited you’re here for the ride.

Yours,

P
