Love your iPhone but you’re not so crazy about the functionality of iPhone Contacts? Why not Switch to Google Contacts! This article tells you how.

If you’re a big user of iPhone Contacts you already know how difficult it is to get your contacts out of iPhone contacts and into other cloud apps.

That’s a real pain if you want to use other cloud apps, such as a CRM, and you don’t want to mess around with import/export, or even worse, manual data entry.

Google Contacts is the answer to iPhone Contacts. Google Contacts is extremely versatile and unlike iPhone Contacts it doesn’t “own” your contacts. You can easily connect Google Contacts with other cloud apps, such as your CRM, to help streamline your business.

Up until recently it was impossible to do this without a lot of messing around. Luckily Google heard the distress cries of all iPhone users, and have responded with “Switch”.

With Switch you can push your Contacts data from your iCloud to the Google Drive and into Google Contacts.

Start Google Contacts in four easy steps

1. Download Google Drive to your iPhone and sign in with your Google account. If you don’t have a Google Account, you can create one when you sign-in to Google Drive. Already have Google Drive? Make sure it’s up to date.

2. Now it’s time to backup your content. Open Google Drive and go to the backup wizard in Menu > Settings > Backup. You can select which content you want to backup or simply backup everything. Then hit “Start”.

3. Sign-in to your Google Account on your iPhone.

4. Go to your iPhone settings and make sure your default account is Gmail. This ensures that new contacts are added to Google Contacts and can then be synced to your cloud apps such as your CRM.

You can then sync your Google Contacts with your CRM using PieSync.
