Mental health refers to a person’s psychological, emotional, and social well-being; it influences what they feel and how they think, and behave. The term ‘mental health’ is also used to refer to the absence of mental disease. In this era mental health become major problems. Mental health affects more in school setting in children and adolescents. Now a days, the global prevalence of mental health problems affecting children and adolescents is 10%-20%. A bold ambition of the Government is to ensure that mental health is given parity with physical health. One in four adults are diagnosed with mental health problem.

According to Mental Health America, the 2018 theme is “Fitness#4Mind4Body.” The theme “is a call to pay attention to both your physical health and mental health, which can help achieve overall wellness.” A major obstacle for integrating mental health initiatives into global health programmes and primary health care services is lack of consensus on a definition of mental health. Common mental health issues in todays world, examining predominant conditions like depression, anxiety, panic attacks and bipolar disorder. these issues are highlight globally, emphasizing that anyone can be impacted regardless of age, gender or socioeconomic status.

Mental health awareness is critical to promoting mental health treatment and behavioral health. It’s a necessary and foundational conversation for changing to a more proactive model of mental health .Right now, we only fill our tanks when they’re on “empty.” Developing our awareness helps us start to recognize the signs and symptoms when we’re feeling “off” — just as we do with physical illness. some four important benefits of mental health awareness: Helps to understand your symptoms, Starts a conversation, Better education, Promotes mental fitness.

In conclusion, positive mental health can contribute to better educational, employment and social functioning. So WHO should play crucial role to take action toawards about mental health. Moreover, mental well-being is important for both the affected and non- affected. It is important that awareness increases among the society so that the affected people feel more ‘at home’ and are not forced to give their life away.
