My Mum Just Joined Labour Because Of Jeremy Corbyn

Here we have a woman who has previously despised Labour. I’m not going to get into serious details but if you want to know why, it’s due to corruption, betrayal and bloodlust. (Iraq war)

Remarkable isn’t it? Someone who has never joined a political party in her life has just joined a party that not too long ago she wouldn’t have minded seeing burnt to the ground.

In most circumstances this would be seen as a good thing but I can picture the seemingly wealthy Blairite/Brownite/Progress fraction stomping their little feet on the ground, screaming about how dare she enter MY party and mutter crap about entryism, evil militants and “trots rabble dogs”(wut?).

The dark depressing truth of the 21st century is that any modest social democratic left platform is considered literally Stalin. We simply cannot have any social goods anymore, social goods are bad, don’t you know the markets know best?

My mum and I are also undesirables; the filthy horrible sorts that no self-respecting members of society should dare associate with. She’s a carer and I’m ill (she’s not my carer), it’s almost as terrible as murder. Thanks to the constant media and political dehumanization we are considered subhuman, we are to blame for the financial crash and all societal ills in Britain. We must be punished, made an example of and our immoral ways must be corrected. We are undeserving of representation, anyone daring to truly speak up for us, might as well be the devil incarnate, those holy bastions of morality, Paul Dancre and Rupert Murdoch have stood on their noble altars and decreed it so.

The 21st century is also the age where everything has been thrown out the window. What the Blairite et al factions have yet to comprehend (and are guilty of), is just how bitterly divided society is. Everyone literally hates one another. The centre ground is dead, it no longer exists, it’s gone and it’s not coming back any time soon. Labour has a choice, it can appeal to soft Tory voters or run a soft UKIP platform and pray for miracles or it can get behind Corbyn and rebuild Labour as party for the Underprivileged etc. and begin healing society from the divisions it helped cause. No need to pander to bigots, just offer hope.

The markets have failed to provide, let alone want, full employment, quality jobs and secure rights. Yet we judge the moral worth of a person by their ability to generate profits for the market. It’s a rigged game of musical chairs where those who couldn’t claim a seat are demanded to be humiliated and sacrificed by those with pre-paid seats. It’s cruel and sadistic. It needs to stop.

So my mum has joined Labour because in these dark times she sees the hope that one man brings. She’s not a trot, she’s not a commie, and she’s certainly never touched a SWP paper in her life. She’s simply just a carer for her disabled mother.
