Dessert experience in Bikaner & Jaisalmer
Breathtaking sunrises, romantic sunsets, sleeping in a palace, riding a jeep on the desert dunes, interesting antiques shopping…
Bikaner is the city were we slept for the first (and hopefully not last) time in a palace. This was a Maharaja palace, and the royal family still lives in the next door premises. I had a blast taking photographs, I even woke up early to catch the sunrise on the roof.
Being on the road going one city to another is wonderful but after almost one month away from home we are getting tired so choosing photos, doing some edition and writing at night after long roads and walks on Indian streets is hard but we want to keep sharing out stories, hope you like it.

After that, six hours of road to Jaisalmer… but safety first, let´s not forget these are dangerous roads, with three cars in a two-lane road and multiple cows and goat crossing being the normal thing. We also got to see the train… when I got down to take pictures someone yelled at me and asked me if I was from Pakistan… Do you think I look like a Pakistani?

Jaiselmar is very different from what we had seen in India… For starters the landscape, the colours, the people, the poverty… A beautiful indo-islamic architecture made with the local stone which gives a yellow atmosphere, also known as the “golden city”. People still live inside the fort, but now the main activity is commerce. In the afternoon we took a 1 hour drive to the desert, we decided to go by jeep instead of camel ride… We waited for the sunset in the dunes while drinking a beer, cheers!!!!
