Within the long history of art resides the nearly-as-long history of looted Masks. We are dazzled by these treasures from the faraway lands of Wakawaka and ancient eras in times past, even as we remain mostly blind to their provenance. Usually left unmentioned is their means of acquisition…..
The year 2022,BCE, right after the great divide, Peleg of wakawaka, morans had separated themselves into conclaves with a myriad of diverse cultures, traditions and economic activities.
In the days of old. There came into being mighty warriors, morans of renown known as merchants….. They traversed all the lands of the WakaWaka in search of treasures of the land. They traded in gold, silver, precious stones, pearls, fine linen, purple , silk, and scarlet, all thyne wood, and all manner of vessels of ivory, spices, artefacts, brass , iron, and marble, and cinnamon, and odors, and ointments, and frankincense , and wine and oil, fine flour, and wheat, beasts, sheep and horses, and chariots, slaves the souls of Morans.
However, there was one treasure that eluded them …the masks of urim.
Tales were told of lands that possessed 12 unique masks that were deemed to have mystical powers that would give the merchants the power of dominion and rulership over all WakaWaka, a privilege that was lost after the fall from the Maasphere.
Punitive expeditions were undertaken by these Merchants on all of the lands of Wakawaka in search of this unicorn treasure.
