First of all, as a designer you would probably be staring at a few screens or more, no matter if you are in UI, UX or even a custom logo designer. Secondly the image above is specifically selected to communicate what is evident in every minds subconscious — a ‘Distraction’. They work all the time as a vibe or an epiphany for a new idea or a revelation — at times they even work in favour for all our blockades. What am I going on about? I am referring to the pre occupancy of the cerebral cortex of a human mind, helping it with new ideas than the same old monotonous while exercising the mind and the body at times — an overall positive effect.

Especially for a Business Logo Design Artist, being completely engrossed in to creating new ideas and unique strategies to help individual establishments — all the time — is quite impossible.

Walk it off — That First Yawn — Downfall Detected

This is the sign for any specific designer or individual in a corporate office of letting go of his system immediately even if it’s a short bathroom break.

This has been as a pre-notified signal from the body to the brain of ‘stress’ and immediate relief is a concern as time is ‘always’ of the essence while designing. So what do you do? Well, save what you are doing and lock your work stations, walk right out of the office and grab a bottle of water on the way, take a stroll for approximately 5–6 minutes and then finish that bottle of water — 500ml at-least, return to your station and tell yourself that you are sleepy and need help. Walk in to the washroom, splash water on your face as much as you can to the full extent of what your hands can gather and exceed that break of 5 minutes to 10 — you deserve it! Once fresh, it’s back to work again!

Music & Darkness Helps — Stimulation

Every mechanism needs a break. In the past other reverse psychological experiments proved that an individual listening to soft music all the time would have a constant negative effect and allow the brain to send emotional stress signals, thus arresting the intuition of a human mind especially for a business logo design artist to cope with monotonous organizations but exclusive and unique ideas. A mix and match of songs from different genres on the other hand displayed decrease in elevated stress levels of the brain.

Darkness on the other hand is relevant to sleeping with the lights closed as compared to sleeping with the lights on! A designers mind is constantly in search of new images and mix and match of specializations of different organizations. Thus scientific advice was for a designer to sit in a dark corner at times without music or any noise for at least a span of 5 minutes, allowing the brain to take a break from constant thought.

Neurobic Exercise — Use your non dominant hand while brushing your teeth.

I mean literally from the start, open the cap of the toothpaste using your non dominant hand to that of applying the paste on the brush and brushing your teeth. This scientifically has proven that it would automatically make the left side of the brain (depending on your working hand) stimulate flow of neurons just as much as the right hand. Doing this about 2wice a week could most definitely help the blood flow to the parts of the brain that are mostly dormant and thus stimulating new ideas no matter the profession.

But that does not mean you begin doing everything in the opposite. Unless it’s a cycle that which is helpful and amongst those brave brave friends! Although statistically, doing the opposite, like sitting at a different seat at the dinner table to that of trying different cuisines that you aren’t used too are all listed to stimulate the brains to all new levels. As long as you don’t try new things!

Stimulation Games — Keep Staring

As a Business Logo Design Artist, you have to step out of the designing abode, take those long walks but what remains most significant of all is to watch other creative arts and crafts. From 3 Dimensional Designs to that of Wall Paintings and the new doodle from your son, daughter or the neighbours kids or a toddler. It is important to check your perception with others when it comes to designing. Take your time at a museum or a painting that intrigues you the most. Watch it carefully to confirm if its talking to you in terms of ‘messaging’ pick from that and start sketching what comes to your mind. This would increase the dormant stimulant in the brain which collapses at requests and limitations.

At the end — It would all Help

Lastly, take a break, as a business logo design artist you would always need that time out — apart from playing mind games on your desktop, watching animated cartoons, superficial fictious beings, TV Series and even Netflix episodes. Laugh as much as you can, because that is the best therapy.

And remember there is always a way out — as long as you have a Will!
