$PIXL is an ERC20 utility token. It serves as the base layer metaverse currency for the Pixelverse — however, it is much more than just your run of the mill average crypto token when utilized across our DeFi gaming platform.
$PIXL will provide players with the opportunity to be rewarded for the time they spend socializing and interacting in the Pixelverse with a tradable token backed by real in-game utility.

We’re revolutionizing the concept of ‘Play TO Earn’ and replacing it with a newer, better concept we’ve dubbed ‘Play AND Earn’ — we want to reward you for having fun.
Currently the only way for you to earn $PIXL tokens is by owning a Sappy Seal NFT and staking it on our rarity based staking contract (check out our recent Rarity Based Staking Medium.
However, this won’t be the only way for you to get your hands on $PIXL:
We are currently developing both a flagship pet breeding and battling blockchain game and a set of gamified DeFi protocols that will exist natively within the Pixelverse, rewarding you in $PIXL as you play and relax within the ecosystem. It is a core philosophy of ours to give back to our community and provide you with a rich, fun and engaging experience.
A percentage of every $PIXL transaction that occurs within the Pixelverse will be recycled back into the ecosystem — this will take the form of seeding tournament prize pools and seasonal player event challenges, providing additional incentive to liquidity providers, and funding ongoing development and game expansions.
Early adopters will be incentivized with the highest $PIXL rewards the token will ever see — this is to encourage active participation within the Pixelverse and to reward our early supporters and communities for believing in our vision and helping bring this exciting 2D metaverse to life.

Our goal is to see this ecosystem thrive for years to come. To put our commitment and our belief in our vision into perspective, the dev team has committed USD$100k of ETH to the initial ETH/PIXL pair — 1M $PIXL tokens were pre-minted to establish the initial $PIXL liquidity pool.
