Regarding “Who gets to make films”. There is a rise of SVOD’s in India (Hotstar by Star TV, Eros, Sony LIV, Viu, Zee OZEE) and abroad (Netflix, Viki, Hulu, etc) which make the content travel beyond its geographical border. They are also forced to make original content in a push to differentiate themselves. YouTubers (like TVF) have chosen just an opposite path from making originals to being a platform for original content by syndicating shows. Recently Netflix is partnering with local players in different markets (like India, Japans, etc.) to include local-original content in their offering.
