A great article Erik, and interesting to me because I don’t have a UX background. I do have design thinking, facilitation and strategy skills but the majority of service design jobs I see appear to have a requirement for a demonstrable UX portfolio. So it’s interesting to see you calling that out and suggesting that’s not what’s important even though you say it might be what gets you through the door for an interview. Which leaves me in the strange position of having skills which are definitely useful, but no clear UX portfolio to get me through the door but not be useful after that… 🤔😄
