Are you saying that tech companies should hire women and people of color just to fill up their diversity quota? Because frankly, that’s racist. Most software companies don’t give damn about your gender or ethnicity. In many cases the first step is to solve a coding test they’ll send you (for example: https://www.testdome.com/Programming-Tests) and they’ll only further screen people that pass. If most of those people happen to be white guys, that’s not their problem. If companies are intentionally discriminating against people based on race or gender, that’s a serious issue. But I see no evidence of it. The issue is that people who tend to get into tech jobs are mostly white guys, which means there is some kind of cultural or societal reason for that, and companies are not to blame.
