I think the main issue with remote workers is to make sure that they are actually working. Even though I hate monitoring software, I feel it’s necessary at least temporarily for new employees just to make sure they’re not sleeping on the job or something. But modern tools really make remote hiring easy. There are even automated coding tests for screening purpuses:
