I really liked the comments from the other folks, but wanted to add my two cents. I’m generally skeptical of designers that make “big” statements because project needs can vary so much between industries, companies, engagement models, etc.

For example, I work in cloud infrastructure (IaaS) which is an incredibly complex space and research has to be central to development work. That can include interviews, usability, focus groups, card sorts, etc. For what it’s worth, I would be a bit careful because your post might be compelling to designers, but actually scare potential clients away.
