Community Novel Preview — First Look At Quantum Paradox

Grab your glasses (if needed), sit on your comfiest seat and immerse yourself in the first chapters of our debut novel.

Quantum Paradox, the first entry in the Quantum Trilogy, represents a unique experiment in making you, the audience, a part of the process of creating a whole new sci-fi universe.

Less than two years ago, we invited a community, that quickly grew to hundreds of thousands of members, to be a part of creating the PlanetQuest universe, in which the Quantum Trilogy is set.

Across three seasons, a team of fabulous designers, artists, and writers gave them the chance to vote on hundreds of key decisions that led to the life and death of beloved characters and determined the direction of our universe, as part of the world’s largest interactive storyline.

This resulted in not just a book but an entire trilogy created together with hundreds of thousands of fans. Today, we are revealing the first chapters of the first Novel in the PlanetQuest: Quantum Trilogy: Quantum Paradox as part of our Community Greenlight process.

If you’ve been keeping up with our Greenlight Process, you were probably already waiting for this one to drop. Well, the time is here! You can now follow this link to get your hands on the introductory chapters of the novel. Of course, this being part of our Greenlight Process, there is still more to cover, so read on to get up-to-speed on everything related to this event.

Quantum Paradox First Preview — Everything You Need To Know

Before we get into the details of how this Greenlight is going to work, let’s first discuss what you’ll be reading, shall we?

Quantum Paradox starts before the beginning of our groundbreaking Season 1 narrative. If you want a refresher on all that’s transpired in said season and more, do visit our storyline website. Don’t worry though; the preview comes with a small intro to get you right up to speed.

In the novel, a series of volatile events start unfolding across known space, bringing our various main characters into the fold, each of them pursuing their own goals.

There’s a little bit of everything in these chapters. Here’s a brief summary to whet your appetite:

• Everything kicks off with a bang (literally) over the Imperial Planet Fisand.
• Sera Varse pursues a lead while on Council business in Imperial space.
• Captain Montez Lycanis leads his Crimson Wolves on what he believes is a standard raid on a seemingly unsuspecting ship.
• Madam Gloria Morell, performer turned politician, carefully navigates the pitfalls of Imperial high life, plotting all the while.
• Down on his luck Private Investigator and ex-Federation soldier Touma Kudo takes on a case that could turn his life around.

All of these disparate plot threads, naturally, start converging and weaving together as the novel progresses. We shall say no more, as we want you to experience all of this for yourselves.

Of course, this being PlanetQuest, it was clear from the beginning that we had to include your choices in the narrative. Your votes shaped the story of this novel, with major characters being chosen as a direct result of your input. For example, Sera Varse wouldn’t be a main character without you, and it was your choices that kept her alive; Quantum Paradox reflects that.
