Robert Scoble Joins, the lightweight, secure and verifiable Proof of Location (PoL) protocol on the blockchain, announces Robert Scoble as Platin advisor.

Scoble is the technical evangelist, blogger and author who inspired the original idea behind the merging of cryptocurrencies and augmented reality, and the eventual creation of Platin’s Proof of Location protocol (PoL) on the blockchain.

“Platin is a natural yet amazing combination of AR and cryptocurrency,” said Robert. “I have been following this space for years, and innovations like Platin are exactly what I have been looking for to take AR and cryptocurrencies into the mainstream. Platin is visionary yet closer than you think.”

Robert Scoble’s book “The Fourth Transformation: How Augmented Reality & Artificial Intelligence Will Change Everything” traces the technological evolution into the worlds of Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality and Mixed Reality, that will become pervasive in the coming decade.

Platin is about making cryptocurrencies more accessible while decentralizing location data: users mining location data and engaging in augmented reality form a truly democratized crypto mining ecosystem that enables seeing and feeling digital assets in a more visceral way. Developers building on top of Platin’s PoL protocol can create new apps and value propositions for businesses — from supply chain to commerce, entertainment and security.

As Platin graduated from the Technion’s Cyber Security Program and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government blockchain accelerator in Japan, it realized the value that Scoble’s involvement in the AR industry could be uniquely synergistic to Platin’s work of making cryptocurrencies more accessible to the masses.

Robert Scoble added, “With Platin, cryptocurrencies and other digital assets can finally be associated with locations in a secure way, converging the virtual and the real worlds like we haven’t seen before. Anyone familiar with AR games, who played Pokemon Go, knows what it means to see a digital asset positioned in the real world. High value assets like Bitcoin can now be engaged with using Platin’s secure location protocol and AR. Platin overlays cryptocurrency onto the world, and the implications are mind-blowing.”

“We are thrilled to have Robert Scoble join,” said Allon Mason, Platin CEO. “His unmatched enthusiasm and drive will be of unique value to the Platin’s PoL protocol as it continues cementing it’s leading role in the blockchain space. With his extensive knowledge and wide network, Platin is confident that collaboration with Robert will bear real fruit. Please give Robert a warm welcome as his vision, insight and passion for crypto and augmented reality accelerates Platin through its next stage.”

Platin ( is a secure Proof of Location protocol based on activity recorded and exchanged by means of ordinary smartphones or more specialized devices. Platin incentivizes nodes at scale by means of its own blockchain-based cryptocurrency ‘PTN’. The result is a secure location protocol that is ubiquitous, stackable, reliable, and suited for integration with any business based on location such as supply chain, money and location verifications, LBS-enabled commerce, token geofencing, KYC+AML, and more. Platin’s union of secure location and cryptocurrency at the protocol level is disrupting industries across the world. Location is Everywhere™.
