As a city evolves, so does the need for structure and governance. Similarly, Civitas and its development team at Directive Games have undergone several improvements in the last few months: new developers, new workflow, new goals. The result is the updated roadmap of Civitas for 2023.
As you can see, the roadmap features several key milestones for this year, all of which converge on the final goal of giving private access to a pre-alpha version of Civitas to those who trusted us from the beginning by investing in the Chosen of Civitas collection.
While this is by no means an exhaustive list of all we have reserved for you during the year, it represents the major goals we committed ourselves to deliver. We are also planning several collaborations and activities to keep you entertained, informed and connected with the development of Civitas. The roadmap is a living document, so you can stay assured we’ll keep updating it with more defined dates and additional information on each milestone whenever they become available.

The Chosen AR App Release
Those of you active in our community will certainly recall our past contests based on the hashtags #ChosenOnTour and #ShamanOnTour, which were based on a browser app that allows casting Ninsiku the Shaman and Zola the Warrior with your mobile device.
For the full release of the browser app, you will finally be able to cast your very own Chosen in the real world. And the best part? All you will need to do to access it is just check your NFT on the chain. The app is at an advanced stage of development, and the collision between the real world and the metaverse never felt so imminent.
Fragments & Crystals
We mentioned before about Ever Fragments & Crystals and our vision for them in the gameplay and economy of Civitas. Before the end of the quarter, the reveal will finally tell you what the fragments you collected so far look like and how you will be able to use them to shape your land in the game.
Alpha Gameplay Reveal
Civitas, the game, exists. In fact, it has existed for a while, but, as with every game in the early stages of development, it looks different from what the final product is intended to be. However, many months have passed since we first announced the existence of Civitas, and times are about to become mature enough to give you a first intro to the game client. What you can expect to see soon are several pre-alpha clips that will dig into different aspects of the game, from procedural generation, and core gameplay loops to specific functionalities.
Land Unveil
The natural segue to revealing every piece of information about Ever Fragments & Crystals is, of course, a first glance into the land itself. What is land? How does it work in the game? What benefits does it have for its holders? What will it look like? This and many other questions will find answers in a few months.
Civitas Closed Pre-Alpha
The closed pre-alpha access will allow every holder of Chosen characters the opportunity to try Civitas first-hand. Being a community-driven experience, players’ feedback will be fundamental to further shaping the future of Civitas. The focus of this year’s pre-alpha release is to showcase The First Age, set in a Neolithic and early Bronze Age world.
Land Mint
The last but not least important milestone of this year is land minting. As you noticed, there are many steps to be achieved before that, and on top of that we are all waiting for the markets to be in a better state, which is why the land mint is currently set for an unspecified period of the year.
