Heroes,

Today we’ll be exploring many of the features that have been packed into Eternity and will be available at launch!

When you first begin your journey in Eternity, you’re greeted with a Tutorial.

This tutorial assumes that you’ve never played a game on the blockchain before and walks you through the steps to get onboarded in Eternity. Upon completion of the Tutorial, you’re brought to the village:

The village is our lively and animated central hub for experiencing the world of Eternity. The village has many buildings and things for you to explore! On the top left, you can connect your wallet which will update the Village screen to show your available GOLD and GLORY on the top right. Hero profile pictures are also available for you to choose from. Some of these profile pictures are tied into the Eternity achievement system, and will be accessible as you complete the required achievement.

The bottom of the village contains features that you will access often:

Quests: Brings up a questing panel.
Inventory: Displays your inventory
Heroes: Displays your available Heroes
Achievements: Shows available and completed achievements
Create Party:
Used in multi-player gaming — Yes, multi-player works in Eternity and you can play Eternity with your friends!

Heroes

Heroes displays your available Heroes along with their levels. In the example above, we can see that the top-left character is a level 17 Thunder Caller, that is of Gen0 quality.

Clicking on the Thunder Caller brings up the Manage Character window

From this window, you can see your experience towards the next level, your inventory, along with your stats. The Manage Character window is robust; you can use it to compare equipment, and equip new gear:

You can also use this window to assign skills to different hotkeys

Saving your character is a gasless action. Upon clicking save, you’re prompted to Sync to the Blockchain. You do not need to sync every save, but you’ll want to sync periodically so that your character is updated in your wallet on the blockchain.

Quests

Quests brings up a questing panel that allows you to embark on your journey. Eternity automagically saves the quests that you’ve already started so that you can resume them quickly!

Starting a quest brings up an intro page that shows you what you’ll be fighting. On the left, you have characters that you’ve selected, and on the right are your enemies.

Eternity features dynamic scaling, so at a minimum, enemies will scale to your level, giving you options for replayability!

From this screen you can easily access the multiplayer mode of Eternity by clicking on Manage Party.

Auction House

The auction house is extremely dynamic and robust. It allows you to buy, sell, and search for Heroes and Items. The filters on the left-hand side allow you to narrow down your search criteria. Clicking on an item or a hero will give you additional information such as the current price, the buyout price, the blockchain where the NFT exists, a bid window, bid history, and detailed information about the character that you are purchasing.

If you’ve used systems like OpenSea or eBay, this auction screen should look and feel familiar to you. You’re able to bid against other participants on NFTs and you’re able to review offers and offer history.

General Store

The General Store contains specials that are available within Eternity. These specials will rotate on a regular basis, so be sure to check for promoted items!

In addition to current promotions, players can also purchase random sets of basic gear by clicking on the armory tab:

A gift for you!

The Treasure Chests tab allows you to purchase starter packs of Heroes (so that you can play the game), and also allows you to buy Scrolls of Unlearning, which will allow you to reset your points on a character.

Combat

When you’re ready to begin your battles, you will first be presented with some of our beautiful artwork as the game loads. Once the game has loaded, you will see a gorgeous battleground that provides some context as to what you need to do to win the fight:

The combat screen has a few interesting features:

Your character(s) are on the left. Each character has a health bar and a stamina bar. Stamina gets used with each attack, and the character with the most stamina gets to attack next. Throughout your gameplay in Eternity, there are abilities that can increase and decrease the stamina bar, which can change the outcome of the game tremendously!

From the above image, the quest objective is listed on the top right. In this case, “Defeat all enemies to win”. This objective gets updated as enemies die.

You can speed up the gameplay by clicking on the x1-x5 button on the bottom of the screen (in the above example, it’s next to the skill listed at keybind 0). This will speed up the animations for you. Clicking on the log button (far right) shows you the combat log where you can get granular information about what has happened to you during combat. This log is extremely helpful for boss fights where lots of things can happen at the same time:

Buffs and debuffs also appear on the top of your character’s heads. In this case, we can see that the enemy bear is currently burning and also has an attribute reduced.

Hovering over an attribute tells you a bit more about what’s going on. In this case, the bear is affected by burning damage (17 damage per turn).

Upon winning a battle, you are presented with the following screen:

This screen tells you how your characters performed and the amount of experience that they received. Loot also appears on this screen. Hovering over the item will provide additional information:

From this screen you can also watch a replay of your combat and/or share the replay with your friends. Every single fight in Eternity can be replayed.

We have more that we will be sharing with you over the coming weeks.

As you can see, Eternity is so much more than just a single combat screen. Whether you’re a person who likes to min/max their characters, or you’re a casual gamer, Eternity has something for you.

Eternity is a dynamic fantasy-themed, multi-player enabled game, which features real-time combat, a living world, a robust shopping system (auctions and general store), deeply designed stats/skills, achievements, and so much more.

We will see you on the battlefield.
