Announcing PlayMakers’ $1.5M pre-seed round

We are pleased to announce that PlayMakers has successfully closed a $1.5 million pre-seed fundraising round to expand our innovative suite of tools, empowering user-generated content (UGC) in any game.

The Investors

The round attracted significant interest from notable investors, with RockawayX serving as the primary backer. Remarkable business angels also joined the round, including Sébastien Borget, co-founder of Sandbox, Vincent Hart de Keating, founder of HOMA and Kovalee, and Hugues Ouvard, former Managing Director at Xbox.

Our Vision

At PlayMakers, our mission is to turn gamers into creators, or as we call them, makers. We’ve built a platform that lets game studios leverage the passion and skills of their players by allowing them to craft new game assets such as 3D skins, animations, music, and more.

Our Co-Founder and CEO, Ilan Nabeth, said, “With the rise of generative AI, more and more players are turning into creators. How PlayMakers works

Thanks to our white-labelled platform, its implementation can be tailored according to each game community’s unique characteristics. Be it through our API or our web solution.

Game studios can implement the best player-made creations in one click in their game, to renew their gaming experience with new content, or monetize them to unlock new revenues.
The community is encouraged to engage directly, elevating the creations they like best, and voting on their inclusion in the game. The best creators are incentivized financially for their work and build clout and reputation in the community.

What’s next

As the gaming industry continues to evolve, user-generated content (UGC) has emerged as the next big frontier, and we are positioning ourselves as one of the pioneering players in this space. Major actors in the industry heavily invested in user-generated content, such as Fortnite, which decided to dedicate 40% of their net profits to creators, or Krafton, the creators of Players Unknown Battleground which dedicated a $100 million fund for their creators four months ago.

Our ambition is to create a new market standard, allowing players to create and submit new content to their favorite games, and be rewarded when it brings real value. Studios supported by PlayMakers will be able to grow their games at lightspeed, thanks to their passionate audience.
