As we finished making this stamp set, Jim thanked us for the opportunity to destroy The Portland Stamp Company’s reputation.

If our destruction is imminent, we might as well make some cool things while we go down!

Despite the risks, we were quite happy to produce Artistamp №28, The Surreal Orange, with Jim. This suite of 10 digital offset prints with spot varnish includes a vellum footnoted cover sheet*, in a signed orange letterpress folder.

This limited edition of 100 is signed and numbered by the artist, suitable for framing.

Jim talks about perversely whimsical Trump Art and not knowing what he was doing in our brief interview below.

*Jim loves a good footnote. Who doesn’t?

Once upon a time, Jim Riswold was in advertising and then he got real sick and quit advertising to make what real sick art featuring the likes of Hitler, Custer, Stalin, Mao, Cancer, WWI, Howdy Doody, and Kim Jong-un as a big fat lollipop.

Riswold often blathers on about how he went from a career selling things people don’t need to making things people don’t want.
