SushiTech Tokyo, internship opportunities, new technologies, sushis, THE tech event you don’t want to miss this week !
Let’s put things straight right away, no it’s not about sushi, (although you might have some for free at the entrance). But do not worry, if your stomach might not find satisfaction, your brain and contact list will be well fed. The main event is held at Tokyo Big Site for two days, until tomorrow, and if you’re a student it’s only 2000 yen to enter!
You understood that SushiTech had nothing to do with fish, indeed it actually stands for SUStainable HIgh city tech Tokyo. Aiming at fostering innovation, from Tokyo startups to the world. It’s actually three programs in one plus a long-term showcase at Tokyo Innovation base (near Tokyo station). There is a global startup program held at Tokyo big Site (on the 15th and 16th), the City leader program, an international gathering of key city leaders for tomorrow’s sustainability, and lastly a showcase about the future shape of tomorrow’s cities, aimed at a larger audience. You can find all the details on the official website here: https://www.sushi-tech-tokyo2024.metro.tokyo.lg.jp/#anchor-program.
As part of this event, and together with Rim Tech, we are currently showcasing our service Care Cube at the Tokyo innovation base SushiTech corner. Care Cube is waiting for you there to experiment its 3 second health check based on voice analysis! Access is free so don’t hesitate to come say hi to our Care Cube (or it might feel lonely…)
Today we also attended the event in Big site, and of course, we will make a little sum-up for you in this article. The event gathered a lot of startups from all over the world, they even had a French corner, a Swiss corner, a Finland corner…and many more! I could interact with people in Japanese of course but also English and French! There were also Pitch contest, conferences, and even a student corner with tons of tips about becoming an entrepreneur.
Now why did we come to do, first, we wanted to hunt for students! Our company is currently looking for new interns, and we were happy to exchange with them here. Some showed great interest in the offer, and we will gladly keep in touch. The second big reason for our participation in the event was to take a look at other new technologies, and especially start-ups with who we could eventually collaborate in the future.
As for my personal thoughts, I was very impressed by the event, even more so because I was not expecting anything before coming here. But it turned out to be filled with various young and bright personalities, eager to exchange knowledge. I could also discover numerous inspiring technologies which we could even experiment directly; we even got free ice cream!
As part of the PLEN Robotics intern team, this event will definitely become a very valuable experience for me, so I was very happy to be a part of it.
The event will be held for another day tomorrow, and the long term exhibition until the end of the month at Tokyo Innovation base. Whether you are a student, an entrepreneur or an investor, there is to be an opportunity waiting for you here, so don’t hesitate to check it out!
Thank you again for for reading us today ! And who knows, see you soon ?
