Kingdom Hearts 3 Ultimate Pre-Order Guide
The Kingdom Hearts franchise has captured the imaginations of many generations of gamers through the joy of playing their favorite characters from Disney, Pixar, Final Fantasy, and many other universes. Even though Kingdom Hearts II came out more than 13 years ago (what were you gaming 13 years ago, huh?), it still can hold its own next to many other RPGs that have followed it since. This massive crossover has been years in the making and has included a plethora of special characters and features that the developer and publisher, Square Enix, has tried to keep on the down low since the game entered development more than 5 years ago. Let’s dive into the top features for Kingdom Hearts III while also giving you a full overview on the story behind the recent leak that almost ruined the game for fans.
Game Story and Features
Early previews for Kingdom Hearts III from the lucky few that got to demo the gamebefore its January 29th release date tell the story of how the long-awaited sequel surpassed their expectationsin several surprising, yet delightful ways. In short, Kingdom Hearts III takes place after the events of Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance. The game’s main character, Sora, teams up with a whole host of Disney characters such as Ariel from The Little Mermaid, Remy from Ratatouille, Simba from The Lion King, and Wreck-It Ralph from…well, Wreck-It Ralph the Movie. As Sora, you can build 2 to 3 different types of special attacks while also equipping and transforming your Keyblade into a more powerful weapon with a new set of attacks and a finishing move.
Battling a boss can be easier when you use your team-up attacks with a combination of heroes from your party like Donald, Goofy, and others. Although you can’t control Goofy and Donald in battle, they will always be present in combat which is different from previous Kingdom Hearts iterations. Sora, Donald and Goofy will travel through a variety of different worlds in their attempt to stop Organization XIII’s evil plan while also being in pursuit of the Seven Guardians of Light; all of which will help in their eventual attempt to stop Master Xehanort’s evil plans.
As you explore the game’s expansive map, you’ll encounter instances of combat coupled with cutscenes that help to add more substance to your gameplay. Once you enter different worlds, you’ll accumulate more allies, like Woody and Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story World (otherwise known as “The ToyBox”) who will expand your active party instead of forcing you to choose. Recent Game Leak
Reddit has been the source of numerous Kingdom Hearts III leaks in the past few months leading up to its anticipated release. Kotaku noted that a Facebook user going by the name Broderick Jackson was selling copies of the game for $100 each the weekend of December 14th, 2018. Even though Jackson wouldn’t share the source where he obtained these unverified copies of the game, the fact that Square Enix acknowledged the leak, leads many to believe that the copies were legit:
A little more than a month later, reports came outdetailing how many UK retailers have been selling the game early. UK users have been getting their Xbox One copies of the game ahead of its January 29th release date to the point that spoilers have begun to surface on Twitter and YouTube. These leaks are being shared at such a great rate that YouTube channel KH Central requestedthat fans keep away from YouTube and Twitter until the game’s release.
