Thanks for the article, it certainly summarizes a lot of what I was thinking when I watched the Keynote.

I’m another longtime user that’s been faithful since the Apple IIc but have been increasingly disappointed with the company’s products in the last 7–8 years as they have completely forsaken the “Pro” user base that helped them make such an amazing comeback in the 90’s .

I’ve been in the market for a new laptop for almost a year now and was patiently waiting for the new line to be released, but what a disappointment. Not only are the features and performance underwhelming but when I went to see the actual product at the Apple store it even looks cheap compared to the previous models, which for the price tag is unacceptable…

I’ve already switched to Android for all my mobile devices and wouldn’t hesitate to move to another platform on the desktop/laptop end of things if only there was a worthwhile alternative, for the moment however there isn’t. I think the time is ripe for a competitor or a startup to really give them a run for their money in the high-end hardware market aimed at creative professionals.
