MY LETTER TO THE PRESIDENT
Dear Mr. President,
Lives are lost and able men and women become disabled due to the negligence of some people in authority. We pride ourselves in fighting for the people who sacrificed their sleep to vote for us.
Projects which are usually started by previous governments turn white elephants when there is a change of government because the next government abandons them in other to please their individual political parties at the expense of the taxes of the ordinary Ghanaian. Human lives are even endangered due to these selfish acts.
Mr. President, I have heard testimonies about you, that “ you are a listening President”. Well, I may agree to some extent but would objectively want to testify to it myself only when this humble plea of mine is treated with all the urgency it deserves.
Former President Kufour, as part of his service to the country did his best to construct the Adenta to Madina roads. Unfortunately, it wasn’t one hundred percent completed. I am making such an emphatic statement to bring to your attention the six (6) footbridges which have been abandoned on these roads.
Mr. President, due to the inaccessibility of these footbridges, pedestrians are always at the risk of being involved in an accident. Even though the municipal assemblies and the police service are doing their best to help reduce the risk, I think the best solution is for us to make the footbridges accessible to the public by completing it.
I don’t want to believe that, our politicians only pretend to act in the interest of the people only when there is a national disaster as in the cases of June 3 and Atomic gas explosion. The most annoying part is that, long speeches and setting up of committees has been our best solution.
Mr. President, I know you didn’t start this project, but for the sake of the people who have given you the privilege to serve them, please do well to complete the footbridges.
Thank you.
Pobee Enoch.
