Meet Pocket Space: a free-to-play space fantasy game where you can own NFT planets to mine resources and win valuable rewards
Hello and welcome to Pocket Space’s official blog — the first free-to-play idle arcade in the Play-to-Own space. In this first post, we’ll talk about an issue that bothers both gamers and developers. Hyper casual mobile games are fun and light, but you can’t get anything of real value playing them. Play-to-Earn blockchain games do yield actual cryptocurrency, but they are hardly engaging and often have high entry costs. Pocket Space manages to combine the best of these two worlds, but within a brand-new trend: Play-to-Own. It’s a free-to-play idle arcade with very attractive tokenized rewards and NFTs.
What makes Pocket Space so special
Travel across outer space and collect your own planets to mine resources, build your base, craft equipment, and earn rewards: Pocket Space really has it all. The core gameplay is based on My Little Universe, a global hit from Estoty, a game studio with hundreds of millions of downloads. You can expect an even more fun experience and an engaging PvP mode.
Free-to-play
Most blockchain games require an initial investment. Sometimes you even have to spend hundreds of dollars on a character. But Pocket Space has a completely different philosophy: everyone is invited, and you don’t have to spend a cent to start playing!
Play-to-own
There are thousands of NFT planets, all different — and you can actually own them! Farm resources on your own planet — or visit other players’ planets in the open space and extract the resources you need from them.
Pocket Space is a space fantasy game where you can explore new worlds, fight in the dungeons, and collect valuable resources. It uses tokens and NFTs, but in such a way that even complete crypto newbies will find it easy to understand.
This is a Play-to-Own game, meaning that you own the in-game assets (NFT planets) and gain value from them. You don’t play just for the sake of earning tokens — you play because it’s super fun. And as Pocket Space becomes more popular and the value of the NFTs rises, you can decide to sell them or keep them. Own a piece of the galaxy!
Idle arcade genre
Pocket Space is the first project to bring the trendy new genre of idle arcade into crypto gaming. An idle game is one where you collect or mine resources almost without doing anything, while an arcade is an action game that requires skill. But an idle arcade is much more fun than both of them: you have a customizable character and can improve your gear to collect more and more resources and unlock new territories.
Multiplayer mode
How many multiplayer blockchain games do you know? Probably none. Pocket Space will be one of the first with a real multiplayer mode — even My Little Universe, the uber-popular mobile game whose experience and best practices we use, doesn’t have it! This means that exploring planets and competing for prizes will become even more fun.
You’ll be able to travel to the black zone of the far space, a place of adventure and mystery, to battle other players in the Arena and win precious prizes. If you’d rather fight against the computer, you can visit the dungeons for some PvE (player vs. environment) action.
A whole galaxy of planets
There are two types of planets in Pocket Space:
1) Story planets — where you can construct buildings, discover the game’s lore, and unlock activities. There are also some special resources you can mine here.
2) NFT planets — these are for farming the full range of resources, and each planet is an NFT token (a digital collectible) that you can buy, own, and sell in the open market. But you can also visit other players’ NFT planets to farm there.
NFT planets come in four ranks of rarity, from Common to Mythical. The rarity system also applies to all the other NFTs in the game, such as equipment.
The total number of NFT planets is limited to 6,000, and the first 3,000 will be sold during the pre-sale. This will be your chance to get a farmable planet earlier than anybody else and even mint a Mythical planet, so make sure to follow our updates!
Resources and crafting
There will be many types of resources, such as wood, metal, etc. They are needed to craft equipment, such as weapons. Apart from resources, crafting requires time and some tokens, which you can also collect in the game. The result is more than worth it: a properly equipped character mines, builds, and fights much better!
Each piece of equipment is itself an NFT, which you can sell on a marketplace for cryptocurrency. So investing tokens in crafting is another way to create real-world value. You’ll even be able to merge different items together to create even rarer and more valuable objects.
