Bitcoin Maximalist Anthony Pompliano Walks the Talk, Keeps 95% of His Net Worth in Bitcoin
During a summer 2021 podcast, Kevin Rose asked Anthony Pompliano about his asset allocation strategy. As host of the popular Bitcoin-focused “Pomp Podcast,” Pomp clearly puts his money where his mouth is:
“I started investing full-time in 2016, and I had nothing in crypto … Today, I’ve got about 95, 96% of my net worth in Bitcoin and cryptocurrency.” — Anthony Pompliano
Now, this isn’t all that rare. Many early Bitcoin investors can say the same. $5 invested in Bitcoin in 2012 is worth ~$35,000 as of June 2021. Pomp’s case was a bit different:
“I took 50% of my net worth in December 2018, and I put it into Bitcoin … At the time, I was 29 or 30-years-old, and I said to myself, ‘Look, I’ve got pretty high earning potential. I’ve done pretty well for myself so far. If I lost 50%, it’s not fatal … I think it’s a really good risk-reward to take.’” — Anthony Pompliano
Bitcoin was priced ~$3,500 in December 2018, so Pomp’s 10x’d his investment as of June 2021. Not bad at all.
