Why? Seriously. Why? I can completely understand an instinct to root for the female politician, as all of them have been saddled with automatic credibility issues solely on the basis of their chromosomes. I can understand a sense of respect at the resume`, especially in light of all the negative attention, regardless of its being merited or not.

I can see that people may want to elevate Hillary to a role as capable statesman, considering her political successes, especially those while in the Senate.

But seriously. As a person she comes across as either shrill, pompous, or downright awkward. I won’t dismiss the possibility that she is a kind, wonderful person, but as a public figure, she has shown the audience nothing of that.

Personally, I think the pinnacle for political achievement was her time as Senator. I believe that was her professional element, making pushes for ideas and programs she thought were valuable, and using her notoriety as political capital to rally support from her fellow Senators.

But she has also made so many mistakes. The email fiasco, whether underhanded or merely ignorant, is a doozy. The defense that the Benghazi incident never really reached her desk because she knew how to delegate to the experts? Seriously?

The bumbling statements about firing the White House staff when she was first lady. I don’t care if the changes were routine or warranted; she was in charge of the aesthetics, and she came off looking like Cruella DeVille.

So, in conclusion, you may be 100% right. Hillary may be a wonderful, warm, and brilliant human being. However, your unabashed affinity for her is based on wishful thinking. We have all seen the same Hillary, and there has been no reason to perceive her in this way.
