MP Lee to help hundreds of less fortunate Children for a second year

Pointe a Pierre MP & UNC Chairman David Lee is set to help hundreds of less fortunate Children in his Constituency return to school with all the necessities they require for a second consecutive year.
Lee who also serves as Opposition Chief Whip is set to launch his “Backpacks for Hope” programme 2017 which is geared towards providing less fortunate Children throughout Pointe a Pierre with Bookbags, stationary and socks. The programme which was launched by Lee in 2016 was a huge success previously as it assisted over 350 families. Last year’s inaugural program was supported by various members of the business community as well as civic minded citizens who felt compelled to assist.
This year MP Lee has taken the initiative by providing all 350 bags and will work with the business community and kind hearted citizens to provide the stationary and other items.
The UNC Chairman highlighted the importance of this program by saying “ The past year has been one of the worst years for many families financially and socially. Many breadwinners have lost their jobs, cost of living has increased and some families have even lost their income earners through criminal attacks. Given that I was elected to serve, I cannot allow these children to be burdened and lose out on the most important opportunity ; their education. My team and I will do all in our power to ensure every child in Pointe a Pierre is in school with the tools they need to achieve”
MP Lee has invited Members of the Public who are desirous to donate to contact his Constituency office at 393–7685 or visit the office which is located at #270 Hermitage Main Road, Claxton Bay. Donors can also contact the sub office at 270–5633.
