When fighting Pokémon in Gyms, Empoleon’s greatest techniques are Metal Claw and Hydro Cannon. This moveset has the most overall DPS and is also the finest for PVP encounters.

Availability
- Empoleon was released along with the main release of Sinnoh-region Pokémon on October 16th, 2018.
- Shiny form of Empoleon was released at the start of the twenty-fifth Community Day on January 19th, 2020.

Biology
Empoleon is a big penguin-like Pokémon that is navy blue in color. It has a broad yellow beak that continues upward to produce three pointed horns that form a trident-shaped crest that surrounds blue eyes. Empoleon’s horns are a sign of power and leadership. A blue crown-like feature above its eyes and a white, lacy line along its breast distinguish it. A blue, fin-like protrusion that extends down the length of its chest and belly creates a collar around its neck. Two elevated gold bumps and a second blue fin create its tail on its back. It has three toes on each of its golden feet, and its feathers create ruffs over its feet. It has three golden claws and large, flipper-like wings edged with blue near the tips.
The edges of these wings are like master-crafted swords capable of slicing through ice floes, and this Pokémon will use them to strike anybody or anything that hurts its pride. It does, however, prefer to avoid needless disagreements at times. Empoleon can go as quickly as a jet boat while swimming in water. Since ancient times, residents in Hisui have adored Empoleon, referring to it as the Master of the Waves.
