Is Hook-Up Culture Only For Rich People?
Ester Bloom

“Hook up” culture isn’t a culture at all. It’s just an attitude where mindless, meaningless sex for the sake of sex is not only acceptable, it’s apparently a norm. I don’t see where supposed privilege enters the equation, unless it’s the fact that kids from wealthy families, or I should say females from wealthy families probably wouldn’t tend to have casual sex with a boy who wasn’t from their own social strata. Unless of course, he’s a hot football player or a black student athlete and she’s white, because they then become trophies for each other.
