Thank you for sharing this. To be honest, I wasn’t sure which way it was going to wind up. The picture of the badge drew me to this story and then as I ran through your intro I began to suspect where this story might go. Then you changed up the direction and tone.

This was really well written and obviously from the heart. Thank you for sharing this and please, please, thank your sister for her service. Your article is a testament to her. The stories of bravery we are seeing from Dallas are a testament to the DPD. I just saw a story of a civilian, a mother, who was wounded in the attack. She fell and covered her son with her own body. She saw a police officer fall near her. She heard the rounds surrounding her and her son. She called for help and the Police moved to her, under fire. Protecting her with their own bodies, another one fell to do it, until they could get her and her son in a ‘bullet riddled’ vehicle to get to the hospital.

Your sister and the actions of those police officers showed that they truly have courage and epitomize: protect and serve. Again, thank you for sharing and again, please thank your sister for me. I am so grateful to know people like her are police officers.
