On a sunny mid-autumn afternoon in Shanghai, Christopher Doyle — 杜可風, which translates as: “Mr Du, Like The Wind” — was enjoying the atmosphere in the pocket park on 永嘉路(Yongjia road).
The master filmmaker — acclaimed for his cinematography, directing, acting, writing, and art — finally had taken a day off following a flurry of activity: giving a lecture at the Shanghai Theather Academy, and seeing his most recent work, Love After Love (第一炉香), directed by 許鞍華 — Ann Hui, released in China.
