Finding Your Passion
Sometimes it’s difficult figuring out what drives and motivates you. We often wind up in jobs, positions and careers that we don’t like. It’s not that we don’t like them because they are bad places to work. We don’t like them because in a lot of cases we aren’t passionate about the work we’re doing.
So what is passion?
“Passion is an intense desire or enthusiasm for something” -Oxford Dictionary
Passion is that thing that wakes you up early before your alarm clock goes off. It’s the sense of pride you feel after working on that thing that you really enjoy doing. It’s the satisfaction you get from seeing people enjoy something you made or even the fact that time seemed to fly by while you were working on it.
Not all of us have the luxury to be employed in our area of passion, but that doesn’t stop us from being able to pursue things that excite us.
If you don’t know what you are passionate about, go and try new things. Learn a language or start playing an instrument. Sign up for a class in a new subject that you find interesting. Find that thing that excites you, the thing that makes you feel wonderful inside. Find the one thing that will make you feel like your life has meaning or value.
Then pursue it.
