WHY do customers trust messaging? It’s context. When messaging is coming from someone they’ve already vetted by friending or liking, then they’ll trust it.
The really interesting thing about technology here is that with context, bots can engage users in messaging-based conversations and context can make it very powerful.
Today, when those conversations, in context, lead to delivering on something the prospect wants (like a reservation), and it totally works. Out of context, it feels more like “oh and here’s an ad for Cialis.” It fails as miserably.
