Software is not the solution

It’s the easiest thing in the world to treat building software as the answer.

Building software is almost never the solution to a problem.

If you try to solve a problem with software, you often end up with two problems.

While building software products, it is safer to think in terms of optimizing working solutions with software, than to think of the software itself as the solution.

Otherwise, this bias tends to lead to sub optimal choices.
