Guidelines to use pastel colors in web
Introduction
Color is one of the most powerful elements available to designers. The importance of color choice in UX design goes much
deeper than simply choosing an aesthetically-pleasing palette. But not only choosing an aesthetically-pleasing palette, is
important but an understanding of color psychology is a key aspect of creating a color palette that works well in digital
design. A good color palette can improve UX and a bad color palette can provide bad experience too.
Psychology of colors
Colors are powerful tools that can create different feelings and emotions in human life. Colors will impact users in various ways such as emotions, to get their attention, to get them to the right track and most importantly to make a good perception in your brand.
This helps to understand how colors can influence users to make their decisions on our product and how the impact that colors can have on brains.

Red
Red is a color that gives us a sense of importance and notifies us about danger as well. Red color often associates with design in places where the user should pay special attention.
There are world-famous brands that use red as there primary color. For Example Youtube, KFC, Coca-Cola, CNN, Netflix.

Blue
Blue is well known as the most preferred and most important color that is commonly used in the design. Blue is used by financial organizations and health or fitness apps as well.
There are world-famous brands that use blue as there primary color. For Example Pay pal, Genie, Pay Here, Facebook, Twitter, Linked In.

Yellow
Yellow can mix smoothly with black text rather than white text to grab more user attention.
There are world-famous brands that use yellow as their primary color. For Example Mcdonald’s, IKEA.

Green
Green is the color of nature as it connected with the environment which can grab users' attention easily.
There are brands that use green as their primary color. For Example What's App, Spotify, Sprite.

Orange
Orange suites best in Art, Entertainment, Food, Sports, Transportation Industries.
There are brands that use orange as their primary color. For Example Fanta, Nickelodeon, Sketch App.

Purple
Purple is the color of royalty.
There are brands that use purple as their primary color. For Example Yahoo, Cadbury.

Black
The black color is more likely to increase brand recognition.
There are brands that use black as their primary color. For Example Gucci, Lakme.

White
White represents the simplicity of the products in both their form and function.
There are brands that use white as their primary color. For Example Apple.
Use of Pastel Colors
There has been a growing trend in web design for the use of pastels colors. They can be used to create a calm and welcoming effect on visitors. A lot of times sites use pastel colors to add a light and fun tone to their site. Pastel colors can also be used to create a feminine feeling. While pastel colors can have a great effect on the sphere you create on a website, they are also difficult to implement well.
Guideline 01: Use of pastel color as a background
When you need to add color as a background then the use of
pastel colors helps a lot. It is not overwhelming to use and
gives a unique look to your product.

Guideline 02: Use of pastel colors with the flat design style
The flat design seems to be increasingly popular since 2012 and is
often associated with the use of pastel colors. Together they
make a very clean and minimalistic design.

Guideline 03: Use of pastel colors with the vintage design style
The pastel patterns and pale colors are quickly recognizable as
vintage.

Guideline 04: Use of contrast colors with pastels
It is important to use contrast colors with pastel colors to
highlight the specific details. It helps to improve User Experience
of the product.

Guideline 05: Avoid overlaying text on backgrounds with the
similar color values.
Avoid using overlay text on a background with same color value as
it will not be properly visible on a website or app.

Guideline 06: Minimal use of pastel colors
When you need to add color as a background then use of pastel
colors help a lot. It is not overwhelming to use and gives a
unique look to your product.

Guideline 07: Consider user group with color blindness
When you are designing for your product, if your user group is
color blind then you should consider using pastel color palette
with more appropriate colors and contrast with proper use of
