User Persona An Essential For UX

Let’s start with what brings it in our mind when we say User Persona? A need, goal, expectation? User Persona is hypothetical archetype of an actual user according to their needs & wants that are has an observed behavior patterns.

But Why User Persona is Important in UX?

User persona is a kind of uncomplicated expectations that hints to an objectifying path for a resolution that helps to outreach to a potentially better user experience. It is a great way to streamline these findings & discoveries about your target user segments. It’s like a checklist of what works and doesn’t work with the users. The persona represents behavior patterns, helping the designer understand the flow of the user’s day and how the interface will fit into it.

So What do you do with User Personas?

The most fundamental purpose of a person is to serve as a communication tool while pitching ideas . For a designer, a persona serves as a guideline and inspiration to design the product for a particular demographic. All the information pertaining to the user’s emotional and psychological state along with their interests and goals allow the designer to clearly conceptualize what the product should be doing and how it will be serving them.

How to Draft a User Persona?

There are many ways for creating a user persona. But the most followed ones are obtained from experience research methods. For instance interviews, casual interaction to ascertain valuable information about the user profile of their general attitude, behavior & character. In UX research scenario, it’s also known as Shadowing.
Personas don’t automatically get the benefits of preventing grounding, encouraging story telling, and enhancing role playing. They have to be carefully crafted to get those benefits.

Quick 5-steps to create relevance for User Persona interactions

1. Write down the key intentions of the product (Goal & Motivations)

2. Draft the problem statements of the product(Frustration)

3. Redefine the intentions and statements

4. Create questions based on #3

5. Rephrase the questions in 3 & 4 different ways

Though many research tools available today but , user persona serves as a reliable tool for both designers and marketers to understand the product and their users. An encyclopedia of small information available in personas generally helps out more than elaborate details on a particular aspect of the user. Additionally, when you have access to multiple personas, the common points between them serve as a deciding factor.To get the benefits, the personas have to have rich, relevant detail. They need to accurately represent the users the team is aiming for. And they need to have a solid foundation in the experiences of real users to be believable and meaningful.
