How I use Midjourney AI to design a landing page for a SaaS startup.

It’s best known that Midjourney AI is a revolution in creative tools and the accessibility of creating “AI-Generated Art”. The results from generative art models have been making a big wave in the design industry. This AI technology can assist designers by automating tasks and providing inspiration, and analysis. 👨‍🎨

🌌 Midjourney AI not only provides a powerful tool to generate art, but also a superior value that can help businesses create effective designs and generate ideas for various tasks such as designing products, fashion, and architecture.

So, in this post, I’m going to show you the results of how I use Midjourney to generate landing page design ideas for a SaaS data platform.

⛳️ The intention is I was looking for illustration ideas for the data concept and a list of platform features. At first, I wasn’t expect anything much since the idea was quite abstract and hard to concrete. But after trying a few prompts, the results shown were mind-blowing, giving me many ideas to go for. 🙌

So here are the prompts and the results:

Prompt #1 — Data management / data-driven

A startup platform for data management that enables data-driven organization at scale.

It’ll give you 4 different styles to choose from (left). You can select any one of them to see the variations of each design. For example, here I ask Midjourney to generate design variants for V1 (right).

Lesson learned: if you gave it too little detail, it could not grasp the concept and gain the design style from this. 📝

Prompt #2 — Connect the dots between analytics and insights

A startup website that provide a range of solutions and reliable platform that helps organizations connect the dots between their analytics insights and the relevant data & features that drive them.

Now it’s getting better. 👍 Let’s see more variants of V1 and V4.

Prompt #3 — Data knowledge network platform

A startup website that provides data knowledge network platform. It’s tool for collaboration, productivity, efficiency, and data management.

🖌 This could give me a good start as it matched the color palette of our design. And the design was not too complex to adjust with a few tweaks in Photoshop later. 🎬

Prompt #4 — Data management platform

A startup website that provides data management platform.

Trying more variants and keywords here. It still gives me much of very impressive designs. You can also ask the AI to re-generate the results with the same keywords. 🎨

Prompt #4 — Hero banner

Next, I try to be more specific about

Creating a hero banner for a startup website that provides data management solutions

But it gave me this; which is quite hilarious that it actually put a hero character onto the web page. 😂

Note: some of them might look like a sci-fi or star-trek theme, which could be too fancy for a company website. 💼

💾 To conclude here, Midjourney can give us very creative illustration ideas from a short description that we could never imagine.

It’s an extremely helpful tool to enhance work and improve our efficiency by embracing AI as a design assistant. This is definitely the way forward as it will only continue to improve and enhance our design processes. 🖌

✨ Here is the final result from our webpage. I ended up choosing the more simple design — not too complex and too fancy design, as it is more implementable to a real website. 🚀

Also, the graphic can illustrate the concept of connecting the dots that we intend to present 🎬. And the color palette matches the theme 🎨.
