Respiratory Heaters

Respiratory heaters are external type heating devices used along a nebulizer system. Nebuliser is a medical device (drug delivery device) that helps an individual to breathe in medicine as a fine mist through a mask or a mouthpiece. This allows the drug to enter directly into the lungs. Respiratory heaters deliver heated aerosols and breathing gas to those who require respiratory support through a tracheal tube or nasal cannula. Moreover, respiratory heaters have the ability to combine warm ambient air and oxygen for users.

Respiratory Heaters are often used by people who require high flow therapy. High flow oxygen therapy is a breathing support used to provide a high flow of medical gas through a tube placed in the nostrils. Respiratory heater warms the solution & heats the dilute air. Respiratory heaters are mainly used to impart heated breathing gas or heated aerosol to patients. They are developed to provide warm and heated bland aerosol therapy to patients who required respiratory support via a face mask, tracheal tube, or nasal cannula.

Respiratory heaters are very useful for people who require high flow therapy. High-flow nasal cannula therapy is an oxygen supply system capable of delivering up to 100% humidified and heated oxygen at a flow rate of up to 60 liters per minute. High flow oxygen therapy delivers oxygen, through nasal prongs, at higher than normal flow rates of traditional oxygen therapy. This therapy is sometimes used for people who are in respiratory distress. Respiratory heaters also used to treat chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, & bronchitis.

Thus, with the increase in prevalence and incidence of respiratory diseases, such as COPD and asthma, across the globe, the demand for respiratory heaters is also increasing. For example, in June 2021, m8 Pharmaceuticals and UCB Mexico signed an agreement whereby m8 will have the rights to commercialize & promote portfolio of established brands in Mexico. The portfolio includes market-leading established brands, indicated for the treatment of various diseases of the central nervous system (CNS) and respiratory system.
