Modern World Caricature by Illustrator Steve Cutts

The world we are living in is being destroyed each minute. The reality of these words served as an inspiration to a London-based illustrator Steve Cutts. In a series of illustrations he sarcastically portrays the world we are living in — we spend hours and days on sitting in front of the TV, eating bullcrap coming out from the screen, checking our smartphones each second, even while taking the dog for a walk, not even noticing the people around us. In a world evolving around money, we seem to forget the essence of living, which is human contact and coexistence.

Steve Cutts is an illustrator living and working in London. Besides illustration, his work also includes sarcastic animation and even sculptures.

Illustration is far more immediate obviously and some things just work better as a one-off image. With illustration it’s like a snapshot, whereas with animation you’re creating that entire world around that snapshot, so obviously it’s a lot more work but ultimately it can be more rewarding sometimes. It depends how the story is told best really. Sculpture I still work on from time to time and I’d like to integrate that into my video making at some point soon. All the mediums kind of feed into each other really, he says in an interview with Featured E-Magazine.

Cutts reports that he mainly works in programs After Effects, PhotoShop, Flash and Cinema 4D.

His previous employment in Glueisobar creative agency enabled him to cooperate with Coca-Cola, Reebok, Kellogg’s, Virgin, Nokia, Sony, Toyota, and many other famous companies, making this young artist a very perspective person whose works promise to be influential in the future.
